Notes is behaving exactly as it should. Editors (ACL) have edit access to ANY document they can see. For secured applications (like you are attempting to build), most people should have Author access to the database. The only people that should Editor or higher would be people you want to have full time edit access (such as a "Super-User" or Administrator). There are only a few ways to get around the Editor ACL level access. Someone already mentioned having code in the QuerySave event. Another is to include the whole form within a Controlled Access Section. Each has it's drawbacks. The best solution you could use would be to rethink your security scheme for the database.
